Choose-day Tuesday – Shampoo Bars

Choose-Day Tuesday will be all about us taking a look at making some easy swaps – sometimes to save money, other times to prevent waste – and hopefully sometimes both! It is about choosing to give something a try, in the hope of making a difference to your budget, your planet – or both!

This Tuesday I want to talk about the Garnier Shampoo Bar that I’ve been trying out for the past couple of weeks. I have been tempted to try a shampoo bar for some time now, mostly to cut down on plastic waste. When I saw Garnier had brought out a range, was half price in Dunnes and came with a free tin to hold it in, I knew now was the time to try.

I’ve been using it for 2 weeks and so far I’m liking it. I’m surprised with the nice lather it makes, I had not been expecting much. They state that it should last up to 2 months, and to be honest it doesn’t seem to be reducing much in size so I think it is going to last me that long. I went for the Delicate Oat – it has a lovely fragrance, is gentle on my (sensitive) scalp and it has been leaving my hair really shiny.

I think I’m converted, but I’ll let you know for sure after a couple of months. I’d love to know if there are plans for Conditioner Bars too – this would really help reduce my plastic waste more.

Have you tried Shampoo Bars? Have you a favourite one to use? Let me know!
